gerb leader borissov invite all parties talks most stable government coalition between major parties

GERB-UDF will invite all parties to talks on forming a cabinet, but will negotiate policies only with those who agree to participate in a future government. This became clear after a press conference by party leader Boyko Borissov in his first comments after the April 2 elections.

GERB leader confirmed that he will enter the 49th Parliament as an MP and will personally lead the negotiations for a cabinet.

Borissov pointed out that the National Assembly must form a regular government, no matter what the cost to the parties.

He pointed out that the most stable government would be a coalition between the major parties, and the natural partners of GERB-UDF are the parties that support Ukraine, the country’s active membership in NATO and joining Schengen and the eurozone.

"The Bulgarian voters said that it is not possible without the participation of GERB, but it is also not possible without “We Continue the Change” – “Democratic Bulgaria” .It is normal that those who have broken the state participate in fixing things, and they should not say that the local government elections are important, municipalities cannot work without a regular government. Otherwise, we will make a government, the blame for the instability, however, will be theirs," Borissov said.

"We Continue the Change" will not support a cabinet with participation of GERB

The door for negotiations for a cabinet remains open to all parties, including "Vazrazhdane", it became clear at the press conference. GERB-UDF are not against considering proposals for ministers even from President Rumen Radev.

“Vazrazhdane” are ready to talk to all parliamentary groups, but will not back down from their principles

"A regular, stable government, in the direction of Europe and support for NATO - if President Radev wants to participate and thinks there are ministers to participate, I’ll put this on the table. I have no dividing lines with anyone. I welcome “Vazrazhdane” - we will talk to them very seriously. A lot of people with higher education voted for them as well. They should not be belittled. We have to work with all those whom the Bulgarian people have elected. Those who do not want to participate will remain in opposition. Neither a budget nor reforms will be adopted with stubbornness. Whilst, if there is a government, all reforms will be adopted, so when they gather and talk, they should keep this in mind," the GERB leader added.

WCC-DB will announce their actions for the next Parliament on Friday

He reminded that international partners are worried about instability in the country.

GERB-UDF coalition won Sunday's parliamentary elections with 26.49% of the voters’ support.

With 100% of the voting protocols processed in the CEC, the GERB-UDF coalition won the April 2 early parliamentary elections. The coalition “We Continue the Change – Democratic Bulgaria” took second place, with nearly 2 percent difference from GERB-UDF.

“Vazrazhdane” are third, accredited with 14.15% of the vote, followed by the Movement for Rights and Freedoms (MRF),with 13.72%.

The socialist party came fifth.

The party of TV presenter, Slavi Trifonov, "There is Such a People", return to Parliament, winning 4.11% of the votes.
