IMRO-Bulgarian National Movement halts the talks for a joint participation with “Bulgaria Ascending” in the parliamentary elections on April 2, the press office of VMRO said on February 22.
As a reason, IMRO-BNM pointed to hesitant positions on the following leading topics: demographic policy, fighting price speculation and inflation, national security and achieving zero migration, defending the historical truth and the rights of Bulgarians as a basis for the position on the Republic of North Macedonia, issues related to certain ethnic groups, nuclear energy development and the revision of the Green Deal, etc.
"During the meetings held between representatives of the two formations, practically no specifics were reached on the future electoral platform and the priorities to be defended in the next Parliament. Despite the publicly announced intention to publish a declaration with the basic principles on which Bulgaria Ascending will stand in order to attract support from other political parties and the way it will develop its relations with them, such a declaration never appeared. Such principles were not set out in the meetings between the two parties, and IMRO's proposals remained unanswered," the IMRO said.
The Executive Committee of IMRO - BNM is to take a final decision on the participation of the formation in the elections on April 2, .2023.
