Pomorie Lake is a coastal lagoon located north of the town of Pomorie, South-Eastern Bulgaria. Via Pontica, one of the largest avian routes for migratory birds from all over Europe passes above the lake. Over 260 different species of birds can be observed in the wetland area. Pomorie Lake is a protected area of particular ornithological importance. Among the inhabitants are the Sableclaw, Coquil's Bittern, Little Cormorant, River Tern and others.
