The structures of "We Continue the Change" (WCC) and the parties from "Democratic Bulgaria" (DB) will decide tonight how their coalition will proceed with the second mandate to form a government, the co-chairman of "We Continue the Change", Kiril Petkov, said at a meeting of the parliamentary group of WCC-DB on March 25.
"With the second mandate, the responsibility is with us, so we take this responsibility. We will make the right moves where our national councils stand behind us. But I guarantee you one thing - we will neither hide behind negotiating teams nor pretend that we are not there, but we will clearly take our responsibility for the second mandate," Petkov said.
He also commented that on 17 March, Mariya Gabriel, the GERB-UDF nominee for Prime Minister, had proposed that there should be a rotation of only the Prime Minister and Deputy Prime Minister without changes of ministers, but also without signing a coalition agreement. Last night, the outgoing Prime Minister, Acad. Nikolai Denkov, also proposed a similar rotation and keeping the current complement of the cabinet unchanged, but insisted on signing an agreement.
"When you take away all the fog from all the talk and all the negotiation processes, in fact what it turns out to be - the only difference is the agreement. For us it means that GERB is clearly not ready to make reforms in the judicial system, not ready to make reform in the (security) services and not ready to make reform in the regulators. Why - we don't know and we don't know if they don't want to or can't," Petkov said.
Tomorrow Parliament will vote on Mariya Gabriel's withdrawal of candidacy for Prime Minister
