"We Continue the Change" will not support a cabinet with a mandate or participation of GERB. This was stated by the leaders of the party, former PM Kiril Petkov and former finance minister, Assen Vassilev, to the media after the National Council of the party on April 4.
The National Council has given a mandate to the representatives to hold policy talks with all parliamentary parties, Assen Vassilev said.
"We clearly promised our voters a normal European life, which includes fair and free elections," added Kiril Petkov.
There will be an official press conference of the leadership of the coalition "We Continue the Change - Democratic Bulgaria" after separate meetings of the two parties.
Earlier today, the candidate from the coalition “We Continue the change – Democratic Bulgaria” (WCC-DB), Manol Peikov, told BNT morning programme that he was not satisfied with the result of the coalition in the April 2 early parliamentary elections.
Former “We Continue the Change” MP and deputy agriculture minister, Ivan Hristanov, who left the party two months ago, commented on the vote and the negotiations for an upcoming cabinet.
"I was informed, and I stress that this is unconfirmed information, that parts of the coalition, in particular “Democratic Bulgaria” party, are negotiating with colleagues from GERB and MRF on the possibility of forming a government or how to move forward. My concern as a voter is that the good practices inherited from the 48th National Assembly for understandable and transparent negotiations should not be violated," he said.
