Inspections on buses and trucks begin as part of European roadside operation

A specialised police operation on the road begins in Bulgaria on February 13. It is under the Roadpol programme and is taking place simultaneously in all EU countries.

Heavy goods vehicles and buses will be checked. Drivers' working hours will be monitored, they will be checked for alcohol and drugs, as well as speed.

ROADPOL Operation Truck & Bus is a coordinated pan-European enforcement action by Traffic Police Officers from each ROADPOL member country and takes place on Europe's roads three times each year.

Commercial busses and heavy goods vehicles are stopped and checked at the roadside by Traffic Police Officers together with other relevant enforcement agencies.
