The Republic of Serbia on May 19 opened its second Honorary Consulate in Bulgaria. It is located in the city of Blagoevgrad, Southwestern Bulgaria.
The opening ceremony was personally attended by the Ambassador of our western neighbour in Bulgaria - H.E. Željko Jović.

"The purpose of the consulate in Blagoevgrad is to deepen the ties between the two nations. I hope that with this act we will deepen and expand our cooperation," said the Serbian ambassador.

At the beginning of the ceremony, a citizen came out in front of the officials with a protest placard. He was detained and taken away by law enforcement authorities.
