The Bulgarian Socialist Party (BSP) congratulated Donald Trump on his election as US President.
"I congratulate Donald Trump on winning the presidential election. It shows the power of democracy and the desire for a different direction of the world," said BSP Chair, Atanas Zafirov.
"I perceive the say of the American voters as a message for change and I hope that Trump's election is that small spark that is able to change the historical processes as well as bring the peace we all need," he added.
He expressed hope that cooperation with Bulgaria would be maintained and developed on the basis of mutual respect and consideration of the interests of both countries.
