Linking European funds to the rule of law should not be considered a sanction, Bulgaria’s Justice Minister Tsetska Tsacheva said on 26th of January before meeting her counterparts from the EU for the participation in the informal Justice and Home Affairs Council in Sofia. She added she was interested to see the development of this EC idea.
Tsacheva also said that today the council will discuss the establishment of European Public Prosecutor’s Office (EPPO) and will share views on how it would interact with the other EU services - Eurojust, Interpol, OLAF.
The justice ministers of the EU Member States will also comment on the Brussels IIa Regulation, which aims to increase the promptness and effectiveness of cases for return of children abducted by a parent. We will also discuss the possibilities to use the achievements of robotics and artificial intelligence to improve access to justice, its efficiency and speed.
