The MPs on December 23 rejected the President's veto on the changes in the Electoral Code.
This happened with the votes of GERB-UDF, Movement for Rights and Freedoms (MRF) and the Bulgarian Socialist Party (BSP). "We Continue the Change", "Democratic Bulgaria", "Vazrazhdane", "Bulgaria Ascending" and the independent MP, Yavor Bozhankov, voted against.
The President's veto sparked sharp disputes in the chamber.
“Democratic Bulgaria” said that if the veto is overturned, they will attack the changes in the Electoral Code in the Constitutional Court.
