The first data on budget execution for last year show that Bulgaria managed to keep the deficit at 6.8 billion leva, equivalent to 3.1% of GDP. Total public debt rose to more than 61 billion leva, while the fiscal reserve exceeded 17 billion leva.
Neither revenues nor expenditures were fully executed. Although revenues rose by 19.5% compared with 2024, they remained below projected levels. A similar situation was observed with spending, which was not carried out in full.
