Bulgaria, Romania, Hungary and Slovakia sign a memorandum with Azerbaijan on security of natural gas supply to the European Union. The ceremony is attended by Bulgaria’s President Rumen Radev and Azerbaijan’s President Ilham Aliyev.
A little later, the two will also open the first Eastern European office of Azerbaijan's state-owned oil and gas company SOCAR.
The signing of the memorandum is important as gas routes through the four countries are currently the only alternative route through which additional quantities of natural gas can be obtained from Azerbaijan to Central and Western Europe.
