The prime ministers of Bulgaria, Israel, Hungary, Romania, Italy, the Austrian Chancellor and the President of Cyprus on March 9 are conducting a video conference on the topic of coronavirus. Experts are also involved in the conversation. The idea of the meeting is to exchange opinions and experience in dealing with the virus.
Bulgarian PM Boyko Borissov said that the key word now is solidarity. And although many countries have banned the export of protective masks and protective clothing, exportation to countries in need should be allowed, if necessary.
He also stressed the enormous threat posed by the migrant crisis and the hundreds of thousands of people who come from many countries with confirmed cases of coronavirus and no control is exercised over them. He therefore asked the EU and other countries to propose serious measures to tackle the migrant crisis.
Although Italy is the European country most seriously affected by the coronavirus, the schools are not closed, the Italian prime minister said. His country is even discussing the possibility of teenagers as the least in risk to help elderly people in disinfecting public tranpsort and other places. Schools are not at risk, he said.
