The incidence of influenza is rising rapidly in some areas of the country. Today, January 10, the regional headquarters in Bourgas declared an epidemic. The number of cases is growing in Pazardzhik, Varna, Lovech, Shumen. The situation is dynamic and it is not known which will be the next region to declare an epidemic. Within two weeks, the flu activity will affect all regions of the country, Chief State Health Inspector Assoc. Angel Kunchev said.

In his words, unlike other years, the wave starts from the east, not from the big cities. The figures of the cases in Sofia are relatively low. Of course there is an increase, but they are far from epidemic levels, said Assoc. Kunchev.

He expects Pazardzhik to also declare a flu epidemic tomorrow.
