Bulgaria’s National Assembly on September 3 approved the appointment of Dessislava Ahladova as Justice Minister, replacing Danail Kirilov, who resigned last week.
This is the second reshuffle in the ministry. Ahladova becomes the third Minister of Justice in the Borissov 3 cabinet after Danail Kirilov resigned.
Although he said he made the decision to leave the post himself, Danail Kirilov has so far not given clear reasons for stepping down. He announced his intention to resign on August 26 following talks with PM Borissov.
Today, Danail Kirilov handed over the key from the safe for the state stamp to his successor as Minister of Justice Desislava Akhladova. Until now, she was his deputy. He wished her every success, and she thanked him for the fruitful work together.
"E-justice will be one of the priorities in the judiciary for me," Minister Ahladova told reporters after taking office.

She thanked the Prime Minister, the government and coalition partners, as well as the MPs, for the trust.
Ahladova was previously Deputy Justice Minister.
Before her appointment as deputy minister in 2017, she worked for 18 years as a magistrate in the town of Pernik, Western Bulgaria, where she started work as a junior judge and became head of the Pernik district court in 2014.
