Bulgaria’s Prime Minister Boyko Borissov is inspecting progress on the construction of Hemus motorway in the sections between Lovech and Pleven and the route in Targovishte region, the government press office said on March 6. The deputy minister of regional development, Nikolai Nankov also took part in the inspection.
The construction of Hemus motorway is a top priority for the government because it will contribute to the development of Northern Bulgaria in the way that Trakia motorway has aided the economic activity of the southern part of the country. The goal is to have the motorway ready by 2024.
During the inspection, Deputy Minister Nankov said that the council of Ministers made a decision to allocate BGN 668 747 for alienation procedures.
Construction of the section between Targovishte and Shumen - between Belokopitovo and Bukhovtsi junctions is expected to be completed next summer.
The other section between Pleven and Lovech, inspected by the Prime Minister Borissov today, will be about 52 km long from Boaza junction to Pleven junction. The route is divided into three subsections.
