Bulgaria’s minister of tourism on March 19 is giving a briefing on the travel situation with foreign tourists in Bulgaria and Bulgarians on excursions abroad.
She said that all measures are taken to organise the return of foreign tourists currently in Bulgarian winter resorts to their countries.
She said that in Borovets there are 25 foreign tourists, 21 of them are British nationals, who will be flown home by a charter flight tomorrow.
In Pamporovo, there are 16 tourists. In Bansko, there are 111, 46 of which are British tourists, who departed from the resort this morning. Additional 29 will travel tomorrow. With regard to the Russian citizens in Bansko, a total of 66 people, 55 of whom have arrived through tour operators, are unlikely to be boarded the organised plane flight, given that they are from a quarantined town and may pose a risk to the health of other passengers on the plane.
We spoke with the Russian ambassador to arrange their leaving of the resort as quickly as possible and he said that this would happen through a separate charter light as early as tomorrow, said Angelkova.
