According to Vice President Iliana Iotova, the newly elected Parliament is not legitimate. During a visit to Gotse Delchev on November 7 for the 130th anniversary of the Nevrokop Diocese, she said that she expected more reason from the declarations that will be made on Monday.
"I think what happened in this campaign is a precedent. Always in Bulgaria's recent history there has been talk of influence peddling, of a corporate vote, ofvote-buying, of threats. But now, with half the protocols having been changed in your area, half the results having been changed, it seems to me that this already puts a very serious diagnosis on all of us and on the fairness of the elections. It is shameful that, in the 21st century, in an EU Member State, the question of a national election being annulled is even being raised. From then on, the responsibility lies with all the institutions, but in a parliamentary republic, especially with the Parliament.
Do you think this Parliament is legitimate?
No," Vice President Iliana Iotova said.
