The protests of the Greek farmers continued on 2nd of February causing long queues of lorries at Kulata - Promachon checkpoints at the Bulgarian-Greek border. The queue stretches to 15 km on the Bulgarian side. Similar is the situation on the Greek side. No cargo vehicles have been allowed through since 1st of February. The Greek farmers threaten the protest may go on for indefinite period of time.
Drivers of lorries have complained for waiting nearly 24 hours and having no information about how long they will have to wait to cross.
The protesters threaten they will block the border for cars as well. Currently, cars are allowed through.
Traffic is expected to be restored through Ilinden – Exochi checkpoint after 15:00.
The Greek farmers increase the duration of the blockades not only at these two border crossings. They threaten to close all border checkpoints with the neighboring countries.
