A 2,300 years old wrought iron candle holder, called “Candelabar” in the ancient times, was uncovered by the team of Professor Diana Gergova on 12th of October in the archaeological reserve “Sboryanovo” near the town of Isperih in the Northeastern Bulgaria.
The researcher says that the find is a meter and a half tall and is unique for the Thracian archeology. The candle holder was discovered in the necropolis of a Getti aristocrat. The upper part is in the shape of a plant with stylized leaves.

Prof. Gergova reminds that the world famous Thracian tomb of Sveshari is part of Sboryanovo archaeological reserve. Two years ago, a box of unique Thracian gold jewelry and objects was found in the site.
