On the International Aviation and Cosmonautics Day, 12th of April, Air Base "Georgi Benkovski" organizes an Open Flying Day at Dolna Mitropoliya Airport on the occasion of 40 years since the flight of the first Bulgarian cosmonaut Georgi Ivanov.
The programme started with airshow. An exhibition will display specialised air defence equipment, various types of light weapons and flying suits.
"Vrazhdebna" airbase in Sofia organised an Open Doors Day. All visitors will be able to see aviation equipment, weapons and suits and have the opportunity to get into the cabins of military transport aircrafts and look at them closely.
The Aviation Museum near Krumovo marks the day with a photo-documentary exhibition "Bulgaria and the Cosmos"
Throughout the day, visitors will have access to the MiG-21 cabin.
