Bulgaria’s President Rosen Plevneliev and Croatia’s President Kolinda Grabar-Kitarovic opened a Bulgarian-Croatian business forum on 31st of March in Sofia and encouraged businesses from the two countries to increase mutual investments.
President Plevneliev said that Bulgaria and Croatia work for the energy connectivity among the countries from the region and for establishing a common energy market and regional energy power exchange on the Balkans. This will reduce the dependence on one supplier and will give an impetus to the industrial development in the region, Plevneliev added.
President Kolinda Grabar-Kitarovic noted she was impressed by the positive development of Sofia. She also said that Croatia would rely on the successful Bulgarian experience in EU funds absorption in order to speed up its economic growth.
In a lecture before students from Sofia University, Kolinda Grabar-Kitarovic said that EU might suffer serious economic damages if Schengen fell apart.
