On November 8, the Bulgarian Police celebrates its professional holiday.
The official ceremony dedicated to the day was attended by the caretaker Minister of the Interior Atanas Ilkov and representatives of the police leadership.
Wreaths and flowers were laid in memory of the police officers who died in the line of duty.
The Police Day was celebrated for the first time in 1924 at the initiative of the then Sofia city mayor Georgi Kissov.
