The covid-19 mortality rate in Bulgaria is twice as high as the average for the European Union. Bulgaria is in last place in terms of number of vaccinated people in the community, a report on the activities of caretaker Minister of Health, Stoycho Katsarov. says on September 15.
Among the priorities for Katsarov's team is the immunization of the elderly.
His team facilitated the delivery of vaccines to doctors' offices. The ministry has prepared a national plan for dealing with the epidemic and lifted the restrictions on the in-person attendance of pupils and students, the report reads.
And more - due to serious violations, the Minister has replaced directors of large hospitals.
The ministry has also changed the rules for financial incentives for front-line medical workers and they are now fairer, Katsarov's report said.
