covid romania tightens rules arrivals bulgaria

As of September 12, all arrivals from Bulgaria to Romania are subject to a 14-day quarantine, after Bulgaria was reclassified as a Covid-19 red zone.

Exemptions from quarantine include those who have been vaccinated against Covid-19, provided that they completed the vaccination cycle at least 10 days before entering Romania; those who can prove that they had been ill and recovered from Covid-19 in the past 6 months and at least 14 days have elapsed since the date of confirmed infection at the time of entry into Romania.

Another exemption is for those in transit through Romania, provided that they leave the country within 24 hours.

Everybody else is required to present a negative PCR test and can stay in the country for up to 72 hours.

Children up to the age of 6 inclusive are not subject to quarantine. A negative PCR test, conducted no longer than 72 hours before the travel to Romania, is required for children above that age.

The test is not allowed to be done after entering Romania.
