The South Korean company Hyundai fears potentially unfair competition during the construction process of the seventh and eighth units at Kozloduy Nuclear Power Plant. This was said in a statement by the concern published on the website of the Embassy of the Republic of Korea on February 21. The company points out that it is the only bidder qualified for negotiations with the Bulgarian nuclear power plant.
Earlier today, lawmakers on the Parliament's energy committee passed a resolution speeding up negotiations with Hyundai for the construction of the new units using the US AP1000 technology.
The condition set by the Bulgarian MPs is that 30% of the project should be carried out by Bulgarian companies and the cost of the first stage of engineering should not exceed $200 million.

Tomorrow MPs will vote in plenary on their final decision. The Embassy of the Republic of Korea said it was monitoring the negotiation process with Hyundai.
