“The Bulgarian energy sector is not for sale, it is part of the national security and needs lots of investment”, Minister Stoynev said Thursday, 15th May at a meeting with business representatives.
He also talked about the three electricity distribution companies (EDCs)’ violations found by the audit of the State and Water Regulatory Commission (SEWRC). Minister Stoynev said that businesses in Bulgaria must comply with the law and non-compliance entails consequences.
He said that the ECDs’ violations identified in the most recent findings should have been revealed earlier, in the past years, but expressed concerns that it was not done because someone ignored them intentionally.
He remarked that the Bulgarian energy sector should remain state-owned.
Stoynev reiterated that the money of the National Electricity Company should go back to it.
