Bulgaria’s Prosecutor’s office has found no evidence that the explosion in the ammunition utilization factory in Gorni Lom was intentional, said the Prosecutor General, Sotir Tsatsarov on 9th of October. The version about sabotage was suggested by the owner of the factory, Valeri Mitkov.
The Defence Minister, Velizar Shalamanov, also said the sabotage version should not be excluded and should be looked into.
The explosion occurred in the explosives Factory “Midzhur” near the village in Gorni Lom in the North-West of Bulgaria on 1st of October and killed 15 employees.
According to the investigation it was caused by improper utilization or an explosion in the machine for grinding of explosive substances.
The Prosecutor General explained that the investigation was still going on actively and all versions would be analyzed and checked. So far there has been no evidence at all in support of the version for a possible sabotage, he said.
