On 1st of February, protesting Greek farmers blocked the checkpoints at Bulgaria’s border with Greece by placing agricultural equipment. The protesters say the blockade will continue until the Greek government satisfies their demands.
There are kilometers long queues of waiting vehicles on both sides of Kulata-Promachon border checkpoint. Only cars and buses have been allowed through since 16:30. The line of vehicles on the Bulgarian side in 4-5 km long.
Bulgaria’s Ministry of interior announced that border checkpoint Ilinden – Exsochi was again closed in both directions. Traffic will be organized according to the actions of the protesting farmers.
Last week, their protests led to temporarily closure of traffic at the checkpoints along the Bulgarian-Greek border.
