Sharp increase in the number of new Covid-19 cases in Bulgaria

The newly confirmed cases of coronavirus in Bulgaria over the past 24 hours are 2005 from 27,124 tests, the daily report on the National Information Portal shows on September 8.

The daily percentage of positive tests is at 7.4%.

The total lab-confirmed positive cases in the country since the start of the epidemic are 464,715.

The active cases are 35,353.

Of the total, 4,307 patients are in hospitals, 329 of them being in intensive care.

During the past 24 hours:

· 1,038 recoveries, bringing the total to date to 410,092

· 11,370 administered doses of Covid-19 vaccines, bringing the total to date to 2,367,564

· 121 Covid-19 related deaths, thus the death toll to date is 19,270.
