"There is Such a People" initiates petition for a referendum on a parliamentary or presidential republic

"There is Such a People" party is initiating a petition for a referendum on the form of governance of the country.

They have formulated the referendum question as follows: "Do you support the holding of elections for a Grand National Assembly to decide on changes in the form of governance from a parliamentary republic to a presidential republic?"

Today, January 23, 2023, “There is Such a People” submitted a notification to the National Assembly for holding a referendum.

"We think now is the right time, we are trying to get all thinking people involved, whether they are for or against a presidential republic. We will say our opinion, but we think that everyone should take part in the referendum to say whether they think there is a need to convene a Grand National Assembly or not," said Ivaylo Valchev of “There is Such a People”.
