Day 58 of protests: Protesters re-erect tent camp outside Council of Ministers

On day 58, the anti-government protest was under the slogan “We are not afraid”. The demonstrators said that as a sign of good will, they will no restore traffic blockades at key crossroads in Sofia until September 15.

However, they added that at any moment they are ready to restore the tent camps if necessary.

Shortly after 21:00, they did not go on a procession to Eagles’ Bridge, but re-erected the tent camp outside the Council of Ministers. The protest organisers said that some protesters will spend the night in the tents and asked protesters to bring blankets for those who will remain in the tents for the night.

The symbol of the protest today, September 4, were toys. The reason was checks initiated in a hypermarket chain for kids and baby goods, “hoppiland”, after its owner criticised the police actions at the protests. Ministry of Interior and the National Revenue Agency confirmed for BNT that they had started checks in “Hippoland”.

The organisers of the protest from the so-called “Poisonous Trio” called on all protesters to bring toys in support of the owner of the large toy chain, who had previously published a letter criticizing police actions on the night of the September 2 protest, and inspections. of the National Revenue Agency and the Economic Police began hours later in the company. Toys were handed out to the protesters.

The protesters said that at 8:00 on September 10, Grand National Uprising 2 will be organised, similar to the one held on September 2.
