Eleven people including 5 children from the city of Dobrich were rescued from a snow trap on the Shipka - Buzlidzha road on January 6. The road has been closed to traffic for the whole winter season. The people did not abide by the ban and got trapped into the snow.
The alert was reported to the emergency number 112 shortly after 11.00.
A firefighting team was sent to the place of the incident.
Chief Inspector Stanimir Tonchev, Director of firefighting Service in Kazanlak: There were no problems with the children, it is good that the cars had enough fuel, people were warm, they stayed there for about 3-4 hours, which helped them not to freeze. The temperature was minus 10 degrees and the wind was strong.
The group of people was on vacation in one of the huts at Buzludzha. They decided to visit Shipka but did not see the sign that the road was closed.
