Nearly 2 km long queue of TIR lorries built up at Kalotina checkpoint at the Bulgarian-Serbian border in the morning on February 19. Drivers said that they had to wait for almost 9 hours to enter Bulgaria.
Border police said that the delays were caused because of busy traffic in the morning. Bulgaria’s Customs Agency explained that the queue was formed because one of the weighing scales at the border was broken and in practice only one desk was operating to serve the heavy goods vehicles.
About 11.00 the work of the two desks resumed thus easing the tarffic.
