The 20th anniversary edition of Sofia International Film Festival opens on 10th of March in Hall 1 of the National Palace of Culture in Sofia with the film “The Prosecutor, the Defender, the Father and His Son” by Bulgarian director Iglika Trifonova.
The filming took place in Bosnia, Sweden and Holland and was inspired by the true story about a boy from a Bosnian village, whose life collided with the important historic events in the region.
The organisers of the film festival have prepared lots of surprises, world cinema masterpieces and star guests.
The programme includes 117 full-length feature films and documentaries and more than 32 short films.
For the 14th time an international jury will decide upon the winner of the Prize in the competition for 1st or 2nd feature film "Sofia - a City of Film".
The award ceremony will be held on 19th of March.
The programme of the festival will run until 31st of March.
