A total of 58 facilities to support the independent movement of people with permanent disabilities will be built in 2021 in 46 buildings. The funding is provided under the National Programme for Accessible Housing and Personal Mobility of the Ministry of Labour and Social Policy.
The facilities, worth nearly BGN 1.8 million, will provide an accessible environment for 61 people with permanent disabilities. The approved projects include 39 staircases and 9 vertical lifts, 8 ramps and 2 elevators.
Under the programme, between BGN 10,000 and 100,000 are allocated for the construction of facilities. It enables owners of individual residential buildings or associations of owners of multi-family residential buildings, in which people with permanent disabilities live, to ensure their independent movement and a better quality of life.
