A Bulgarian national was killed in the shootings at shisha bars in the German city of Hanau. The Bulgarian is the 32 year old Kaloyan Velkov from the town of Mezdra. His wife Harieta Velkova confirmed the information about his death for BNT on February 20.
Kaloyan Velkov was in the shisha bar in the centre of Hanau, where a suspected far-right extremist went on a shooting rampage, targeting customers at two shisha lounges.
Kaloyan Velkov’s wife learned he was among the victims from a cousin, who lives in Germany.
In Bulgaria, Velkov lived in Mezdra. He was a TIR driver. He went to work in Germany several years ago. Residents from Mezdra told BNT he was a very good person.
