Sofia municipality announced on December 19 that it introduced free buffer parking spaces, because of high levels of fine particulate matter in the capital city.
Five parking lots offer free-of-charge spaces: on bulevards “Tsarigradsko Shosse”, “Cherni Vrah”, “Lomsko shose”, Äleksander Malinov”and “Dragan Tsankov”.
The municipality advises the citizens to use the public transport instead of their personal vehicles and to use alternative means of heating rather than solid fuel.
Teams of Sofia municipality inspectorate will continue with checks for unregulated pollutants.
