There was no air polution and no serious damage, ecology minister Emil Dimitrov told the press commenting the accident.
It was an industrial accident that occurred Monday morning on the gas pipe near the village of Kulata in the vivinity of the Bulgarian crossborder point of the same name.
Part of the main pipe used for the gas flow frоm Bulgaria to Greece has suffered some damage. All necessary repair actions have been taken and authorities hope it will be intact in twenty-four hours at the latest.
The explosion was quite strong, people said. There was a short time gas leakage but it was stopped in time and caused no ecological consequences, a local official reported.
