An outbreak of Covid-19 was reported (September 30) in a care home in Targovishte, where 29 people were diagnosed with the illness.
The other residents are under quarantine. They were examined by an infectious disease specialist who prescribed prophylactic therapy, although they did not show typical symptoms of the infection.
Access and visits to the home are prohibited, all safety measures have been taken, and the staff is wearing protective clothing and shields, said Mitko Staykov, district governor of Targovishte.
According to him, the situation with the spread of the infection is complicated by the increase in coronavirus cases in the recent days.
There are a total of 38 residents in the care home, the staff is 17 people. Quarantine has been imposed, a prescription has been issued for the implementation of anti-epidemic measures, said a representative of the regional health inspectorate in Targovishte.
The hospital in Targovishte has allocated beds that can take patients with Covid-19. The municipal hospital in Omurtag as well has prepared beds.
Two students from Targovishte district have coronavirus. They are in sixth and ninth grade, they have already switched to distance learning. They are in good general health, with no symptoms.
