With 47.7% of the audience, the public service broadcaster BNT was the leader on New Year's Eve. The “Stage under the Stars” concert and President Rumen Radev's address, aired on BNT1 channel at midnight were watched by more than 1 140,000 people, and after midnight, BNT1 gathered almost half the television viewers before the screens, according to GARB Audience Measurement Bulgaria.
On New Year’s Eve, the “Stage under the Stars” concert, broadcast live from Prince Alexander I Square in Sofia, once again made BNT1 the most watched channel by the TV viewers.
The concert brought together tens of thousands people in the square. The director and screenwriter of the show was Boris Radev, and the singers on stage included Kiril Marichkov, Ivan Lechev, Doni, Slavcho Nikolov and Venko Poromanski of the Foundation, Argyrovi Brothers, Cuban performer Dolores Estrada, the hit pop singer from the 90-ties – Tonni, Expose Team and Vivo Montana Brass Band. The hosts were Raina Naldzhieva and Miroslav Dimitrov from the BNT1's show "Tourism.bg".
This year's “Stage under the Stars” coincided with the 140th anniversary since Sofia's proclamation of the capital of Bulgaria and the 60th anniversary since the establishment of the Bulgarian National Television.
On New Year's Eve, the city centre of Sofia proved to be an attractive place for people from all over the world.
