Bulgaria’s central bank withdraws the 20 lev banknotes, issue 2005 from circulation

As of 1 February 2023, the Bulgarian National Bank is withdrawing banknotes with a face value of BGN 20, 2005 issue, from circulation, as from that date they cease to be legal tender.

After 1 February, banknotes with a nominal value of BGN 20, issue 2005, will be exchanged at the cash desks of the Bulgarian National Bank at their nominal value with no limit on the quantity, no fee and no exchange deadline.
