On 3rd of June, Bulgaria’s Parliament adopted at first reading the amendments to the law on the Ministry of Interior.
The Chief Directorate Fire Safety and Civil Protection is envisaged to be transformed into an agency and the Specialised Courier Service to be moved to the State Commission on Security of Information.
The draft law envisages reduction in the annual paid leave of the MoI civil servants from 30 to 25 days.
MoI civil servants who were appointed to work after 1st of January 2007, will be entitled to 12 salaries upon retirement instead of the current 20.
The amendments are not final. During the debates in Parliament, it became clear that some of them may be further edited between first and second reading.
