Refugee crisis, terrorist threats and fight against organized crime were among the topics discussed in the meeting of Bulgaria’s Prime Minister Boyko Borissov and Tukey’s Chief Prosecutor at the Supreme Court Mehmet Akarca, government’s press office said on 12th of April.

The two agreed that the joint efforts between the countries were the only effective measure to counter terrorist threats.

PM Borissov emphasised that Bulgaria put enormous efforts to tackle migration influx and counter human trafficking. According to him, it is necessary to deepen cooperation between partner law enforcement agencies as part of the measures against terrorism and migration influx.

Mehmet Akarca also met Bulgaria's Chief Prosecutor, Sotir Tsatsarov, President Rosen Plevneliev, minister of interior and minister of justice.

Main conclusion from the talks was that an exceptionally good result was achieved in the coordination of the two countries regarding the security of the border.

The visit is within the frames of the Cooperation Agreement from 2014 between the public prosecutor's offices of Bulgaria and Turkey, which envisages exchange of information, trainings and periodic bilateral meetings.
