Bulgaria’s President Rumen Radev on December 9 convenes a meeting with representatives of the Central Election Commission, the relevant institutions and analysts of the election process.
On the day of the second round of the local elections, the head of state announced that he would convene such meetings to discuss the issues in the electoral legislation and the measures that could be taken.
At that time, Rumen Radev announced that the large number of invalid ballots and the many reported irregularities compromised confidence in the election process. He also criticized the government's unwillingness to introduce machine voting, which he said would restore confidence in the elections.
