The port of Varna-West on February 5 starts the re-export of the containers with waste which were illegally imported from Italy. It is expected that after 19:00 the first containers will be loaded on board a Turkish ship. Under the leadership of the District Prosecutor's Office in Varna this morning, an operation was launched in the offices of Brickel and Trash Universe in Galabovo.
Documents and materials related to the pre-trial proceedings for the 127 containers with waste from Italy will be sought and seized. The supervising prosecutor, Nevena Ilieva, three preliminary investigators and police teams are in Galabovo.
Meanwhile, the port of Varna-West is unloading the Turkish ship, which will later today be loaded with the first 28 containers for re-export. They will be returned to the sender, the company Dentice Pantaleone from Salerno, after the District Prosecutor's Office has authorized their transportation. This will be at the expense of the Italian company, and the garbage itself was described in the customs documents as rubber and plastic, and in fact it is wood, glass and textile waste.
The containers were intended for the Blatsion company in Sofia and had to be transported to the Trash Universe site in Galabovo and then burned in the incinerators of Brickel’s Thermal Power Plant (TPP).
