On 16th of October Bulgaria marks the day of aviation and air force. 107 years ago on this date (in 1912) two Bulgarian pilots for the first time used a plane in a military battle.
The Aviation Museum in Krumovo will offer free-of–charge visits.
Visitors can see the museum's interior and exterior and experience what it's like to be a pilot in some of the fighter jets and helicopters.
They will have the opportunity to enter the cabins of our MI-24 fighter helicopter and MI-21 training fighter jet, said Veselina Atanasova, senior expert at the Aviation Museum.
The museum displays photographs and models of the types of aircraft that took part in the first military actions during the Balkan War - the model of the Albatross aircraft that made the first combat flight on October 16th - the occasion for which we celebrate the Air Force Day.
Visitors can also see the space capsule and the costume of Bulgaria’s first astronaut Georgi Ivanov.
