At the orders of Bulgaria’s Prime Minister Boyko Borissov, Bulgaria will provide humanitarian assistance for the refugees and the migrants at the Greece-Macedonia border, the government’s press office announced on 11th of March.
Seven lorries departed from Kulata-Promachon border crossing on 12th of March carrying humanitarian assistance for the migrants camped near the Greek village of Idomeni. The assistance, which was requested by the Greek government, is in the form of tents, camp beds, blankets, bedding, matresses and fuel wood and will be unloaded at a warehouse near the port of Thessaloniki, from where it will be delivered to the migrants.
Another consignment of foodstuff and water, requested by the Macedonian government, will depart on 13th of March to Macedonia.
