Out of 90 samples tested at the National Centre for Infectious and Parasitic Diseases (NCIPD) by cellogenomic sequencing, the viral variants of Covid-19 were identified in 86.
They were taken from Covid-19 patients in the period June 21 – July 8 from 29 medical establishments in 17 districts.
Alpha variant was detected in 32 (35.6%) of the sequenced samples, Delta variant was detected in 53 (58.9%), and Beta variant was identified in 1 (1.1%) of the samples.
A variant which is under monitoring was detected in 3 of the tested samples.
