Bulgaria will have "smart cities" with 5G networks in 2020, Transport Minister Rosen Zhelyazkov announced on November 19.
In the middle of next year, mobile operators will receive frequencies from the radio spectrum for the construction of fifth generation networks. In order to be stimulated to build 5G, operators will receive frequencies with a 30% lower cost, the Communications Regulation Commission has announced. 5G will revolutionize the tech world, creating "smart cities" and completely changing our lives.
Rosen Zhelyazkov, Minister of Transport, Information Technology and Communications: Currently, the regime for the construction of a mobile station is a third category, that is, it is equivalent to the construction of a hydropower plant. Of course, the regime should be eased.
Ivan Dimitrov, Chairman of the Communications Regulation Commission: At the Commission, we are preparing procedures to provide frequency spectrum to telecoms, to mobile operators, to build the network.
